FF's download page

This site will be terminated on September 30, 2002.
For further upgrades contact Frans Franken at fjm.franken@chello.nl.

For the time being this site serves as a download gate for two freeware programs for the Psion 5mx (Pro), Revo (Mako), netBook and Ericsson MC218.

ContactC and ContactX are macros, which require the OPL programming extensions of Pascal Nicolas' award winning (and free) Macro5 program. If you don't already have it, please download Macro5 from here and install it before using ContactC or ContactX, or get it directly from Pascal's site.
A small macro starter program by Mario Collado that better suits the Revo (Mako) is RunMacro, downloadable from here or from PsionWelt.

ContactC (version 7.00 of 2002/03/30)
ContactC brings data from Contacts to your documents in a fully customisable fashion.
It was designed as a tool for addressing Word documents such as letters and faxes, and does so by pasting address information into preformatted documents in the specified place and format. The position in the Word template where data must be pasted is indicated by field codes. ContactC allows to define your own sets of field codes and other settings, so that it can comply with existing templates.
Contacts information can also be copied to the clipboard or pasted directly into any document, email message etc.

ContactX (version 7.10 of 2002/07/01)
ContactX is indispensable if you wish to keep groups of contacts separated. This applies in particular to synchronising business contacts with office systems, where private contacts need to be kept out. Simply enter the name or details of the contact you are looking for, and ContactX searches through all contacts files in a specified folder. If matching contacts are found in more than one database, you will be prompted to choose the preferred one. This database will be foregrounded and the matching contacts will be presented, to be exported to a new contacts file if required.
As an option files can be automatically backed up, to be restored with a push of the button.

Recommendable freeware programs that link to ContactX are
>> on the input side: DataContact by Pascal Nicolas, to be obtained from here or again from Pascal's site.
DataContact converts Data files to Contacts.cdb files. Full scale label mapping allows for transferring Data fields to any of the standard Contacts fields.
>> on the output side: C2F by Malcolm Bryant, downloadable from here or directly from Malcolm's site.
C2F exports the contents of a Contacts file to an ASCII file in a customisable fashion, for import into other applications like Word, Data or spreadsheets.
